Livelihood improvement sector

In this sector, we work to address the root causes of poverty and economic vulnerability. We empower conflict-affected individuals and families to restore their dignity by achieving sustainable economic self-reliance. We target communities where traditional livelihoods have been destroyed, leading to rising unemployment and poverty, which drives them toward fragility and dangerous coping strategies.

Therefore, we adopt a comprehensive strategy to transition families from aid dependency to productivity and contributing to the local economy. Our programs focus on creating economic opportunities and building the skills and assets of individuals. Our scope of work includes:

• Building Human Capacity: Developing vocational and technical skills through specialized training programs to enhance employability and entrepreneurship.

• Empowering Productive Enterprises: Supporting the establishment of Small and Micro Enterprises (SMEs) and home-based businesses, which are particularly suitable for women and displaced families (IDPs).

• Providing Responsible Financing: Managing "Qard Hasan" (interest-free benevolent loans) to provide initial operating capital without the burden of interest, enabling beneficiaries to start or expand their businesses.

• Creating a Supportive Environment: Linking trainees and entrepreneurs with local markets and providing mentorship and guidance during the early stages of their projects.

• Our Goal: Our work aims to create safe and dignified income pathways, reduce the drivers for engaging in dangerous work, contribute to community stability by enhancing their positive economic role, and build long-term household resilience and self-sufficiency.
