Protection sector

In this sector, we aim to create safe and supportive environments for the most vulnerable individuals and families—particularly women, children, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)—in communities torn by conflict where social safety nets have deteriorated. We work to mitigate the risks facing these groups, including violence, exploitation, abuse, and marginalization, which are exacerbated during protracted crises.

Therefore, we adopt an integrated protection strategy that combines direct life-saving interventions, long-term empowerment programs, and activities aimed at community peacebuilding. We aim to restore fundamental rights, enhance psychosocial resilience, and build more cohesive communities. Our scope of work includes:

• Child Protection (CP): Establishing safe "Child-Friendly Spaces" (CFS), providing comprehensive "Orphan Sponsorship" (covering educational and living needs) to support children and their families, and delivering specialized Psychosocial Support (PSS).

• Women’s Empowerment and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention: Implementing "Women's Self-Development" programs and facilitating their integration into the workplace, alongside providing counseling and psychological support.

• Family Support and Social Cohesion: Offering "Family Counseling and Support," empowering vulnerable families through Income-Generating Activities (IGAs), and working on conflict resolution within families and the local community.

• Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE) and Peacebuilding: Implementing the "Rushd Program" targeted at youth and the community to foster a culture of moderation, dialogue, and tolerance, and supporting local initiatives to enhance social coexistence.

Our Goal: Our work aims to contribute to building a strong social fabric capable of protecting its members, which constitutes a necessary foundation for any genuine and sustainable recovery process.
